Physical Education 2019-2020

October 25, 2019

Welcome to the Second Six Weeks Physical Education Class.

It is an exciting time in Physical Education.  We are currently making that transition toward the Winter months and our focus has changed to a lot of the indoor activities when the weather forces us indoors.  We will start placing more of our focus on Basketball and other indoor activities.  A lot of this will be skill building in those areas.  It will be a time that we can challenge ourselves and test our abilities.  We will also work more diligently on our fitness goals and assess our progress in those areas.

August 2019
Welcome to Pre-K ~ 4th Grade Physical Education 2019-2020.  My name is Coach Seymour and I am looking forward to an exciting year of physical education at West Texas Elementary.  This will be my 16th year at WTES.  I have planned an exciting list of activities for this Fall.

We will begin the year with many of the activities and sports that are popular this time of year as well as many traditional games that can be played throughout the year.  We will take advantage of the opportunity to be outdoors every chance we get when the weather allows as we know we will be forced inside a lot in the cold of Winter, so your child should dress appropriately for outside play on most days.

My focus at the beginning of the school year will be on activities such as soccer, volleyball, football lead up activities, frisbee.  We will also spend a lot of time preparing for the Fitnessgram state assessment which means we will be working in the areas of muscular strength, muscular endurance, aerobic conditioning and endurance, speed, agility, balance, coordination, flexibility and other areas of fitness progression.

I believe your child will enjoy physical education class.  Our goal is for them to gain something from the experience and to have fun and enjoyment through physical exercise.
